Bennett is a small but growing town with community services, good schools, no congestion, clean air and a strong sense of community. Bennett is experiencing new residential growth with the approval of 475 residential homes between 2016 and 2018. Currently, the Town has 1,700 acres of land entitled for residential, commercial and industrial development.
The Town forecasts approximately 4,500 residential units over the next 15 – 20 years.
Bennett’s primary industries include retail; accommodation and food services; arts and entertainment; and recreation. With a strong civilian labor force of approximately 1,300, Bennett is able to offer residents and businesses the amenities and sophistication of a large nearby metropolitan area in a small town setting.
Bennett offers an educated and skilled workforce. Thirty-four percent of the workforce is employed in science, technology, engineering and other skills that support primary industries. Eighty-four percent of the employed population work in the private sector, with another 13% working in government. Entrepreneurs make up 3% of Bennett’s workforce.
